Are you smarter than a 5th grader??? Goes on fairly easy if you don’t try to hammer in crooked. Make sure you tap it in straight and you shouldn’t have a problem. If you get it started crooked, and keep hammering, you will have problems because then the housing gets distorted; almost like putting a square peg in a round hole!

Reese Wheel Bearing Protector 74177 This bearing protector is very much like B Buddy model 1980. I did not have any problem with installation as a few others reported. Maybe they ordered the wrong model. I just bought a used sailboat and the trailer had a B Buddy on one side of the axle and some kind of plastic knock off on the other. Since the plastic one was cracked and had a loose zirc I decided to replace both with new protectors. I chose the Reese because of reviews, price, and the inclusion of plastic covers…
